About Do Dham Yatra:

Kedarnath: The Abode of Lord Shiva

Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was said to have been constructed by the Pandavas but had to be revived again by Adi-Shankaracharya. Kedarnath is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the Mandakini rivers and provides a sense of intense spirituality and sheer natural splendor.

Badrinath: The Holy Temple of Lord Vishnu

Badrinath, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is one of India’s holiest temples. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu meditated here in intense penance, and Goddess Lakshmi assumed the guise of a Badri tree to shield him from inclement weather. The divine beauty of the temple’s surroundings, the Neelkanth Peak and Tapt Kund (hot water spring), only adds to its otherworldly appeal.

Best Time to Visit

The best time for the Do Dham Group Yatra is May to October, as winter sees the temples shut owing to heavy snowfall. The pilgrimage originates generally from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun.

The pilgrimage to Do Dham Yatra is not merely a trip to temples; it is a life-changing spiritual experience. It is said that this yatra cleanses one from sins and opens doors to moksha (liberation). The path takes pilgrims along verdant valleys, thick forests, and rushing rivers, so it is a mix of piety and adventure.
