The butter festival or “Makhan Holi,” is the local festival of Dayara. “Butter festival” is the same as the Holi festival in north India. The butter festival is also called “Anduri Utsav”. In August, the people of Dayara, Barsu or Raithal Villages, Uttarkashi Gangotri area people, and trekkers from different parts of India took part in the annual ‘Butter Festival’ to celebrate the festival with great pomp.
