Om Parvat: The Mystical Mountain of the Gods

Om Parvat is considered a holy site and is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. According to Hindu mythology, the mountain is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, and the natural formation of 'Om' is considered to be a divine manifestation of the sacred sound. The mountain is also considered to be a part of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, a pilgrimage journey that is undertaken by devout Hindus.
For Buddhists, Om Parvat is considered to be a sacred site associated with Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche had meditated in a cave near the mountain, and his presence can still be felt in the surrounding areas.

The pilgrimage to Om Parvat is a challenging trek that requires a high level of physical fitness and experience in mountaineering. The journey begins at the base camp in Sinla Pass, and the trek takes around ten days to complete. The trek covers a distance of around 90 kilometers and involves crossing several high-altitude passes, including the Nampa La pass and the Om Parvat pass. The trail also passes through several small villages where trekkers can experience the local culture and hospitality.
