About Badri-Kedar Yatra Package

The Badri-Kedar Yatra stands as a testament to the profound spiritual heritage of India, beckoning pilgrims from across the globe to embark on a journey of self-discovery and devotion amidst the majestic Himalayas. This revered pilgrimage encompasses the visitation of two of the most sacred Hindu shrines, Badrinath and Kedarnath, nestled in the pristine landscapes of Uttarakhand. The yatra not only offers a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of the region but also provides a transformative experience, where the echoes of ancient hymns mingle with the tranquil whispers of nature.

Badri-Kedar Do Dham Yatra

The Badri-Kedar yatra from Haridwar covers two of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India: Kedarnath and Badrinath. These two destinations are situated in the picturesque state of Uttarakhand, which is known for its natural beauty and spiritual significance.
The tour usually starts from Haridwar, which is easily accessible by road, rail, and air. It is a holy city located on the banks of the Ganges and is considered the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra, which includes four important pilgrimage sites in the region.

The first stop of the Badri-Kedar Yatra package is Kedarnath, which is situated at an altitude of 3584 meters above sea level. This town is known for its ancient Kedarnath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India and is believed to be over 1000 years old. The trek to Kedarnath is challenging and takes around 18 kilometres from Gaurikund, which is the starting point of the trek. However, there are helicopter services available for those who cannot undertake the trek.

The second stop of the Badri-Kedartour package is Badrinath, which is located at an altitude of 3133 meters above sea level. This town is known for its Badrinath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites in India and is believed to be over 1200 years old. The town is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River and is surrounded by the magnificent Himalayas.

About Badrinath

Nestled in the lap of the majestic Himalayas, Badrinath stands as a beacon of spiritual enlightenment and devotion, beckoning pilgrims from far and wide. Situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, at an elevation of 3,133 meters above sea level, this revered temple town is adorned with awe-inspiring natural beauty and steeped in mythological significance.

At the heart of Badrinath lies the ancient Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the Hindu Trinity. According to Hindu mythology, this sacred shrine marks the spot where Lord Vishnu meditated for aeons under the divine Badri tree, hence earning the name Badrinath. The temple’s striking architecture, predominantly built in the North Indian style, features a tall conical shikhara adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures, making it a visual marvel against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks.

Beyond its spiritual significance, Badrinath also serves as a gateway to several trekking trails and scenic spots that allure adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. From the serene shores of the Vasudhara Falls to the mystical vistas of Mana Village, the last inhabited village before the Indo-Tibetan border, every corner of Badrinath exudes an unparalleled charm and mystique.

In essence, Badrinath transcends the boundaries of time and space, serving as a timeless sanctuary where devotees can seek solace, introspection, and divine blessings amidst the grandeur of the Himalayas. A pilgrimage to Badrinath is not just a journey of miles; it’s a journey of the soul, where one finds solace, enlightenment, and a profound connection with the divine.

About Kedarnath

Nestled amidst the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, Kedarnath stands as a beacon of spirituality and devotion, drawing pilgrims from across the globe to its sacred grounds. Revered as one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites, Kedarnath is home to the ancient Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level, the temple is not just a place of worship but a testament to the enduring faith of devotees who brave the rugged terrain to seek blessings from the deity.

Legend has it that Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that the Pandavas, after the great war of the Mahabharata, sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to atone for their sins. Unable to face the deity directly, Lord Shiva transformed into a bull and submerged himself in the ground, leaving behind his hump, which is worshipped as the divine form of Kedarnath.

Apart from its religious importance, Kedarnath also serves as a sanctuary for spiritual seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. The surrounding Himalayan peaks, including the majestic Kedar Dome and Kedar Peak, offer a breathtaking panorama that leaves visitors spellbound. The pristine Mandakini River, flowing beside the temple, adds to the ethereal charm of the place, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its purifying waters.

Despite its remote location and challenging terrain, Kedarnath continues to beckon devotees and adventurers alike, offering a sanctuary for spiritual solace and self-reflection. As one stands in awe before the ancient temple, surrounded by the grandeur of the Himalayas, it becomes evident that Kedarnath is not just a destination but a sacred pilgrimage that transcends time and space, connecting humanity with the divine in a profound and transformative journey.
