Lake is frozen❄⛄ from December to March April. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva on hill overlooking the lake. Unfortunately, most of the time this temple is locked. A trip to Kareri lake is thus definitely not worth a miss, especially for trekrs and nature lover. Hikers carry own tents and camps to stay besides the lake.

Breath taking view with amazing (moderate difficulty) trek which includes jungle, river and snow. It is 10 km trek which takes 7 hours (on an average) to reach the lake. But you wont regret any step you take. Jungle has animals like Bear which we rarely see and you can stay in camp overnight near lake. Possibly 5-6 shops on the way so carry snacks and make sure you are with a guide as it is not as easy as triund trek. Have fun trekking:)

We did the trek in march. The trek comes in easy to moderate category. During winter you will need a good guide as 50-60 percent trek is in snow. I will definitely recommend this trek. You can do trek from kareri village in one day but its better to book camping for one or two nights as your choice. Total trek is approx 9.5-10km from kareri village.

Head for the high hills of Kareri, through lush meadows and ancient pine forests, to reach Kareri Lake trek. It's nearly 10 kilometers long, with a moderate difficulty level – a hike that's perfect for nature lovers. You'll love every second as you head towards the sparkling lake ringed with mountains. Kareri Lake is a freshwater lake, nestled deep in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,300 meters above sea level. It is going to be your lifetime experience. Real beauty.

It was so cold but to be frank, we had the best time of our lives. We haven't done such difficult treks before. So it was challenging from the start to end. With the beautiful peaks of Himalayas in the background, the place looked enormously beautiful. We loved the views so much. Staying was also very difficult as it was too cold inside the tents. But the guides helped us a lot to have a comfortable time. Thank you so much folks.
