The trek to the lakes is an arduous one, but amassing with flora & fauna, pristine landscapes, and unpredictable Himalayan weather.
Saat Taal also known as Sapt Kund Trek is the most challenging one in the area because of this, it is still not on the bucket lists of many people. As the name denotes, Saat Taal is a group of seven lakes situated in the inner regions of the Himalayas at an elevation of 4600m and at a stretch of 53 km in the Chamoli district. This trek is also a sacred pilgrimage for locals as it is believed that Lord Shiva resides here and an annual fair is conducted to worship the almighty. Surrounded by vast grasslands (Bugyal) and flower beds make the journey more picturesque and majestic and simultaneously we walk with the views of Nanda Ghunti and Trishuli Peak. The trail is full of adventure and thrill as we climb steep mountains and experience the best of nature.

Wake up early and wrap up your camps and bags and prepare yourself for a steep hike towards Gochal Gufa. Today we will walk about 10kms and witness nature in it’s various forms. We can consider today to be an easy day, as we will camp back at Gochal Gufa and there will be no need to carry our camps and bags up till Saat Taal. Today we will have enough time on ourselves to relax and breathe at the final destination, take pictures, meditate, make memories, and maybe stretch a little while you see the mesmerizing view of Nanda Ghunti Peak. After spending enough time at the lake we will head back to Gochal Gufa and camp there after walking a total distance of 12kms.

Today is the day when we say Goobyes to the team and leave for Rishikesh to head back to our lives but if you got some time in your hands and want to explore a little more then do visit Chopta, another beautiful hamlet.
