The trek to Mukta Top begins from the small village of Barsu, which is located at an altitude of 2250 meters. Mukta Top is a good winter trek around Uttarkashi. You can trek Mukta Top all year round. The best time to undertake the Mukta Top trek is from May to June and from September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, providing trekkers with excellent views of the surrounding peaks. However, trekkers are advised to check the weather forecast before embarking on the trek as the weather in the Himalayas can be unpredictable.
Arrive in Dehradun and meet your trekking group at the designated meeting point. From there, board a vehicle and start your journey to the Naga Adventure base camp in Uttarkashi. It will take around 6-7 hours to reach the base camp.
After breakfast, start the trek from Naga Adventure base camp to Naga Top. The trek will take around 5-6 hours, and you will cross a few streams and dense forests en route. The last 1 km of the trek is steep, and you will need to be cautious while climbing.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise from Naga Top. After breakfast, start your descent towards Chaithatar. The trek will take around 5 hours, and you will pass through some beautiful meadows and forests. Chaithatar is a beautiful campsite, and you can spend the evening exploring the area.
After breakfast, start the trek to Syari Top, which is the highest point on this trek. The trek will take around 7-8 hours, and you will pass through some rocky terrain and steep ascents. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Descend back to Chaithatar for the night.
After breakfast, start your trek back to Naga Top. The trek will take around 4-5 hours, and you will descend through some beautiful forests and meadows. Reach Naga Top for lunch and spend the evening exploring the area.
After breakfast, start your descent toward the Naga Adventure base camp. The trek will take around 4-5 hours, and you will pass through some beautiful forests and streams. Reach the base camp for lunch and depart for Dehradun.
